Hanging installation at Goldsborough Hall

frequently Asked questions

Still considering River and Rose for your wedding florals? Below are answers to some of our most frequently asked questions to help with any planning queries and give you a little extra clarity.

Booking

Do you travel?

Absolutely. River and Rose is based in North Yorkshire and we create wedding flowers across Yorkshire and beyond. If you’re getting married further afield, I would love to hear your plans.

How far in advance should I book?

Most couples book between 6 to 18 months before their wedding date, particularly for peak summer dates. If your wedding is sooner, please do get in touch as I may still have availability.

Do you have a minimum spend?

For full service weddings there is a minimum investment of £2000. Smaller weddings and bridal party flowers are always welcome, subject to availability.

How do I book you for my wedding?

After the initial enquiry, I will get in touch to book an initial consultation via zoom where we can chat about your wedding and discuss your ideas for your wedding flowers. I will then compile a bespoke proposal which will have all designs listed and the costs outlined as well as a creative mood board displaying all of your inspiration images and colour pallet. If you choose to go ahead and book River and Rose for your wedding florals, a 20% booking fee is required to secure the date, this is deducted from your final balance which is due at around 6 weeks prior to the wedding date.

What if I don’t really know a lot about flowers?

That’s completely normal! Most couples don’t. I'll guide you through the process, suggest flowers that suit your style and venue and make everything feel simple and enjoyable.

Can you source specific flowers?

I'll always do my best, but flowers are seasonal and nature can’t be guaranteed. If something isn’t available, I'll suggest beautiful alternatives that compliment your design.

Can you work from my Pinterest board?

Yes! Pinterest is a great starting point. I'll use it to understand the style, colours and atmosphere you are drawn to, then create designs that feel personal to your wedding rather than copying someone else’s work.

How much do wedding flowers cost?

Every wedding is unique, but most River and Rose couples invest between £2000 and £5000 for full wedding florals. I'll create a bespoke proposal based on your plans and your priorities.

Do you offer wedding styling?

I do offer a wide range of styling items, from chiffon chair drapes, charger plates, candles and napkins as well as props and decorations. To see more information on wedding styling for your wedding click here.

What is your floral style?

My work is inspired by nature, the changing seasons and flowers with beautiful movement and texture. I love creating designs that feel timeless, elegant and effortlessly romantic rather than overly styled or trend led. Every wedding is different, so while my work has a recognisable style, each design is created specifically for the couple and their celebration.

On the day

Do you deliver and set up?

Yes. I'll personally deliver your flowers and set up larger installations and ensure everything looks perfect before you arrive.

Do you return to collect the arrangements?

If you have hired items such as bowls, vases or other props and styling items, I will return to collect the next day. The flowers themselves are yours to keep or give to your guests.

Can you move the flowers from our ceremony venue to the reception venue?

Where possible I can absolutely move the flowers from one venue to the other. This is a great way to get the most out of your wedding flowers.
