Hi, I’m Kirsty – floral designer and owner of River and Rose Floral Design.

My journey in floristry began almost 20 years ago as a shop assistant at a local flower shop. From day one, I absolutely loved my job and couldn’t wait to learn more. I was eager to grow in the industry, so I asked the shop owner if I could complete my NVQ Level 2 while working – a brilliant way to learn on the job and build my skills.

In 2014, after the shop closed, I decided to start my own business so I could continue doing what I loved while raising my children. I began working from my garden shed, and The Flower Shed was born.

Three amazing years later, it was time to grow. With that expansion came a fresh new look and a new name – River and Rose – inspired by my children.

Fast forward to 2022, and a long-held dream came true: I opened my very own flower shop in the beautiful town of Knaresborough. I’ve loved every minute of shop life and feel so lucky to live and work in such a wonderful community filled with kind, supportive people who share a love for beautiful blooms.
