Gagan and Aaron’s wedding at Rudding Park was a beautiful celebration filled with colour, personality and flowers with meaning behind them.
From the very beginning, Gagan knew she wanted her wedding flowers to feel different. Rather than choosing a traditional bridal bouquet, she wanted something vibrant, unusual and full of flowers that would complement her stunning sari, which featured rich pink and red tones with intricate gold embroidery.
The result was a floral design that was bold, romantic and completely personal to the couple.
A bouquet with a story
Gagan’s bridal bouquet brought together some of my favourite flowers to create something that felt both luxurious and unexpected.
At the heart of the design was a beautiful protea, chosen as a special nod to South Africa, where Aaron proposed. Alongside the protea, I used blousy peonies, delicate butterfly ranunculus and sculptural cymbidium orchids, bringing together different shapes, textures and movement.
The combination of pink, red and warm tones worked beautifully alongside the gold embroidery of Gagan’s sari, creating a bouquet that felt like an extension of her outfit rather than simply a traditional wedding accessory.
Gagan’s two bridesmaids carried smaller versions of her bouquet, creating a cohesive look while allowing the bridal bouquet to remain the centrepiece.
Meadow-style wedding flowers at Rudding Park
For the ceremony, we created meadow-style floral arrangements to line the aisle. The arrangements were deliberately natural and abundant, bringing plenty of movement and texture into the space while complementing the elegant surroundings of Rudding Park.
After the ceremony, the staircase became one of the focal points of the wedding. Flowers were combined with flickering candles to create a beautiful floral installation that transformed the staircase and added warmth and atmosphere to the venue.
The overall design was elegant without feeling overly formal — full of colour, texture and flowers chosen specifically for Gagan and Aaron.
Bespoke wedding flowers with meaning
What I loved most about creating Gagan and Aaron’s wedding flowers was that every part of the design had a reason behind it.
The colours reflected Gagan’s sari. The protea represented the place where Aaron proposed. The unusual combination of flowers reflected their desire for something that felt different and personal.
For me, that is what makes wedding flowers so special. Your flowers don't have to follow a particular trend or look like anyone else's. They can tell your story, reflect your personality and bring together the places, colours and moments that mean something to you.
